Our Trip to the Hogle Zoo!

We decided to go to the Zoo yesterday. Braden's dad went with us, and boy was I happy he did! We took the Frontrunner down. We figured if trax didn't go all the way up that a bus would. So when we got off the frontrunner we asked a guy what we should do to get there. He told us to ride up to the stadium on trax and then catch a bus that would take us up. The guy couldn't remember what bus number it was so he told us to ask the bus driver. So the bus came and we asked the driver which bus would take us up to Hogle Zoo. He said none of them that they stopped the bus that went up there, and that his is the one that would get us the closest. So we believed him and jumped on. We had to walk UP HILL 1/2 mile to get to the zoo. As we were walking a bus passed us and went right up to the zoo. LIAR! I was so mad at him. I hate walking, but walking up hill...COME ON!!! Well we finally made it and had so much fun at the zoo. Then it was closing time and we called the UTA to see when the bus would be there and we missed it by 2 minutes. So we walked about 3 miles from the zoo back to the stadium. At least it was down hill this time. Braden's dad helped push strollers and carry strollers on and off the trax and frontrunner. While we were walking we figured out why we were. There was a boy like 11 years old that came up, behind us, riding his scooter. He was almost in tears. He and his friends were riding to trax to go down to Gateway to watch a movie... he was too slow so his friends left him! And he didn't know how to get to trax. So we told him we were going to the Gateway too and he could go with us. He was so polite. But we decided that we were supposed to be walking so we could help him.

Jaxon's favorite part of the zoo was this Black Bear. He wasn't anything special all he did was walk in and out of his cave.
Alek's favorite part of the zoo were these two Black Bears. He swears that one of them spanked the other one on his bum. He thinks its so funny.

This was my favorite part of the zoo. These are Golden Lion Tamarins. This is a momma Tamarin with her 1 month old babies on her back. Just like every new mother, she lost her hair.
Have you ever wondered how the Fessler Family would measure up to a Gorilla? Well wonder no more!
TA-DA!!!
Here are some more animals.
Cupuchin monkeys taking a nap.
A Red Panda
This really cool bird had his eye on Braden.
We don't know what this is or how it got there, but it was in the trees where they keep all the birds. He was so cute sleeping on his back.
Giraffes!!
This giraffe took a really long time to sit down. It was so funny to watch.
This picture is cool...he is balancing on his front knees.
Almost there...
AHH... did it
Elephants!
The one on the left is pregnant, and the one on the right is 49 years old. She is the oldest living African Elephant in North America. Fun Fact: Between the Elephants and the Rhinos they give the zoo 500 lbs of poop each day! Crazy!
We all know elephants are big. Here are the boys next to a femer of an Asian Elephant.
Welcome to Madagascar!
They had a little building devoted to the movie. It was fun.
THE FOOSA, THE FOOSA ARE ATTACKING!!!
We got to touch a turtle!
Did Grandpa Fessler have a good time at the zoo? You can be the judge of that!
