Never In Bed

I don't know what Alek's deal is, but he hasn't been falling asleep in bed lately. During the day he'll fall asleep on the couch but at night he'll fall asleep on our living room floor. Like the post a little while ago when he fell asleep in front of the tree. We were watching a movie the other night and he wanted to draw so he got a pen and some paper and started to draw. He started to snore I looked down and he still had his pen in his hand. I fell asleep like this a lot in high school and college.

Joye the Goof

Joye is such a goof ball. She is very mobile, although she doesn't really crawl. She used to army crawl but she would only use her left arm. Now she has figured out that she can go faster if she uses both arms, but its not really an army crawl, it's more of a butterfly stroke in swimming. Joye has never sat on her own for very long. She can, but she would rather be standing or on her belly. Now she won't sit for anything. Every time you want to sit her down she straightens her legs and fights with everything she has not to sit. Even when she baths she won't sit in the tub, so I usually end up holding her up with one hand while she's standing and washing her with my other hand.

I was folding clothes the other day and Joye was crawling around on the floor, she had grabbed a piece of computer paper and was playing with it. She got really quiet so I looked down and she had crawled up right next to the couch and had fallen asleep on her piece of paper sucking her thumb. She's not even a thumb sucker so it was weird to see.

At night when Joye gets tired she gets slap happy and thinks that everything is funny. I can be rocking her and every back motion she'll laugh. Well the other night I was laying on the couch with her and Braden came up behind us she crawled up and tried to eat his face then he would just talk to her, and she would laugh. He picked her up to put her in bed and she would lean back and giggle, then she'd sit back up and lean back again. She did this for a few minutes. Then Braden lowered her toward me so I could give her a kiss goodnight and she giggled so I grabbed the camera and started recording.

Train Fun

We have all enjoyed playing with our trains. But Jaxon and Joye have had the most fun. Alek will play with them but not as long or as intently as Jaxon will. Joye rips apart the track every chance she gets, and when the trains are going she tries to derail them. In Jaxon's video you can't hear him because the trains are too loud, but he's talking to them. If you listen close when the first train goes down the waterfall he says, "Good job Henry!" Joye layed there watching the trains for a long time before she figured out that she could grab them, but I love how they would scare her and she'd look over at them as they fell.

Our New Toy

Last year we bought a Thomas the train that goes around our tree. We decided that every year we'll get another piece and add on to the track. Well we got our new addition to the track last night and it's pretty cool. I was probably more excited than the boys were...well at least Alek anyway. It's called Thomas at Action Mountain. The track winds up to it and he has two options he can either go through the waterfall and fall down or go all the way up and over. The boys could hardly wait for us to set it up for them. Jaxon sat in front of the tracks forever just watching Thomas and Henry go around and around. He was so funny every time the trains would fall down the water fall, Jaxon would cringe. I don't know if he was too excited, or if he was nervous for them or what but he did it every time. Alek just sat on the couch and stared, he didn't want to get too close or something. We barely have room for presents under our tree, because we had to loop the tracks around.

Sucking At Life

I had a friend in college that whenever anything happened that wasn't perfect in your life, he'd say "You suck at life!" Well I think Braden and I have officially started Sucking At Life. Nothing seems to go our way. Braden has been applying for a spot on the Salt Lake PD. The Detective told him that there were 20-30 openings and only 40 applicants left. We thought those odds were pretty good. Well Braden got a letter yesterday saying that they only hired 9 out of 80 applicants and Braden was number 15 on the list. 15 is pretty good except for the fact that 9 was the magic number. We were really disappointed. We thought he pretty much had it in the bag. He had the fastest time in his physical test and received the highest test scores out of everybody, and everyone he talked to said that he'd get their recommendations. So we don't know where we went wrong. Life goes on and we'll keep on trucking . We got up today feeling ok about the day when I get in the suburban to leave for work, the battery is completely dead, and it won't charge so we had to switch the kids over to the truck. And now once again we are down to one vehicle (which we seem to do a lot). So in conclusion we officially suck at life.
